The Waterman Wins Gold at the CCS Awards

Awards 9th June, 2025

We’re proud to announce that The Waterman project has received a prestigious Gold Award from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS). The CCS recognises outstanding achievements in community engagement, environmental responsibility, and workforce wellbeing. It monitors how well projects minimise disruption, protect the environment, and support the workforce, aiming to improve the image of construction across the UK.

We achieved a 45/45 score across the three main CCS categories:

  • Respect the Community – 15/15
  • Care for the Environment – 15/15
  • Value their Workforce – 15/15

This top score places The Waterman among the highest-performing projects assessed by the CCS.

Team Ambit at the CCS National Site Awards 2025

In addition to the perfect score, we were awarded two best practice credits, bringing the total CCS score to 47. These credits were awarded for:

  • Circular glazing scheme: Recycled glass from the strip-out phase was repurposed into new vanity units and worktops, reducing waste and showcasing environmental innovation.
  • Community legacy through Action Funder: Our partnership with local charities created long-term social impact. Support extended beyond the build phase, written into tenancy agreements to ensure ongoing involvement from future occupiers.

The Waterman stands as a model for ESG-led refurbishment, combining sustainability goals with social value and a high-quality working environment. The CCS Monitor’s report praised the team for “having worked to excellent and exceptional standards of Considerate Practice throughout on this project with some very impressive results” and noted our detailed environmental plans, community engagement strategy, and commitment to mental health, safety, and training on site.

This award reflects the dedication of everyone involved in making The Waterman a success, from our project and sustainability leads to our supply chain and site team. Congratulations to all.
